~Christmas~ WAY LATE!!!

I am finally getting around to posting Christmas Pictures. We celebrated with my sister and her husband before leaving for WI where we celebrated with Daddy's side of the family and then PA, where we celebrated with my side of the family. It was a fast safe drive to PA with hardly any traffic and NO SNOW!! The kids slept most of the way. We arrived in PA Christmas morning and the kids were so excited to open gifts, so my brother, Daddy and I had to suffer no showers and little sleep while we opened gifts. It was not bad, just took a long time as we have such a growing family.My older sister, her husband and their son joined us while we stayed there too!! We had such a great time visiting and playing with everyone!

After we played a few days with all of our new toys we decided to see some sites, even though it was a little chilly out!! My sister found out there is a Crayola factory in PA, so we scoped it out and had a great day exploring the whole hands-on, child friendly factory. The kids had a blast drawing on walls, making cards and bags, playing with modeling clay, getting souvenir markers and coloring on the floors with chalk. Above the factory the have a child friendly museum where they had fun playing in water, playing with blocks, looking at trains and big ships and learning about damns and bridges.

So there is our Christmas post. Next I have to post Our Little Guys birthday parties!! Hopefully I can do that tomorrow!! Have fun looking!

Our first (playable) snowfall!!

We finally had/have enough snow to play in. The boys were so excited to wake up and find the yard covered in snow this morning. However all of our snow gear is MIA at the moment,(can't imagine why?? LOL) so I just dressed them all really warm and we were only out about 10 minutes. It was really cold, but they all enjoyed every second of it. Here are some pictures, this was Gianna's first time in the snow and she was a little afraid at first and then thought it was great.

Last Friday we closed on the new house and started moving in. After a bunch of late nights, unpacking, sorting and organizing we are finally moved in. I have not found the charger for the camera battery yet so I have no new pictures. I ordered a new one off ebay that should be here soon!! Yesterday we bought a new washer and dryer, I am so excited about doing laundry now!! I know it is weird to say but Nic has promised me for a long while then when we bought a new house he would buy me a new washer and dryer. I know it is something extra that he didnt have to do, he could have bought some older, used ones off Craigslist. A little bit scary......

I am going to tell the whole story, just so you get all the details. However for those that cant wait until the end I will give the outcome now and then tell the rest. Friday night our little Princess had a Febrile Seizure.

Now from the beginning.... I had taken the kids to McDonalds to play after we had spent the day in the house cleaning and packing. While we were at McD's I notice princess had a low grade fever, but I just figured it was due to her teething, plus I didnt have any Tylenol with me anyway. So we drive home, I unload the kids and we go into the house. Meanwhile Daddy had just gotten home and was talking on his phone in the car, a common practice as sometimes the house can be pretty loud. I was turning on the outside lights to let Stanley outside and all the sudden princess was on the floor and let out a little cry. I had thought she had fallen, as she does alot now because she is still learning. I picked her up her legs twitches a little and her head and eyes both went to the side and she closed her eyes. So I gently jiggled her and called her name, she opened her eyes and looked at me and then laid her head on my shoulder. So I run outside to Daddy and get him off the phone. We called our doctor and he said to take her into the ER as she might have hit her head on the floor. (At this point I still had thought she had fallen.) So we rush everyone into the car, call some good friends to take the boys to and then we were off to the hospital.

At the hospital they took her temperature, blood pressure and monitored her heart rate. Her temp was 102.3 at that time. Higher then what I thought it was. Then the doctor came in and checked her ears, they were both infected. So they gave her a shot of antibiotics, a tylenol suppository and then did a CT scan. The scan came back negative so they gave us a prescription for Augmentan and told us to give her Tylenol and/or motrin around the clock. They said between the ear infections and the high temperature is why she seized. However once they have a seizure it is likely they will have another.

So we are just watching her very closely for the next few days and going to see her doctor on the 16th. Jeepers things can go from great to grim in a matter of seconds!!
Her fever finally broke last night and she is coming back around to her normal self.
Daddy and I were both a little nervous when all of this happened, we are relieved to know she is ok.

House News

So we are excited to announce- although a lot of people already know, that we are buying a new house. We are thinking we will be closing on Daddy's birthday-11/10! We are moving to a better area altogether, we will have better schools, be closer to shopping and church and a BIGGER house!! Here is a picture of the kiddos and our new house that we will soon make our home!!

Pumpkin Carving!!

(I started this post on Tuesday morning, I am just getting around to finishing it!)
Last night we carved our pumpkins!! The kids had such a great time doing it. It is was so much fun seeing them get so into it. Daddy always does the majority of the carving, we draw the face and then he carves it out!!I should mention there is a picture of Princess crying, she was VERY afraid of the pumpkins from the moment I brought them into the house until Daddy cut hers open and let her feel and see it. Our Mini Vacation!!

This past weekend we drove to Tennessee for my sister in law's wedding. We had a great time seeing family and spending time with them. We left Thursday night around 9 pm. It took a little while for the kids to calm down and go to sleep in the car. Then Daddy and I tried to pass the time by talking, (daddy) singing and just watching the outside pass. We stopped around 3 am to sleep, Daddy slept, the kids played, I tried to sleep but ended up supervising. We finally got back on the road around 6 am. We finally reached our destination around 3 pm. It took us awhile but it was worth the drive. We stayed at a condo, that had a great view of the mountains. There was a pool and hot tub that the kids just loved. Here are the pictures!!

On our way home we stopped at this really cool McDonalds so the kids could play and get a little energy out. It was a really cool one, like no others I had ever seen, SOO I took pictures!! LOL!!

Oh and if you are wondering WHY my daughters hair is a mess in some pictures???!!! It is because she has decided that she no longer needs to have it in and she pulls it out every chance she gets. Maybe she was bored in the car and at the wedding so she decided she didnt need it?? I am not sure, but eventually I just gave up!!

A busy week in a nut shell!!

So here are a few updates/fill ins for you!!

Last Saturday I was driving the van and my low coolant light came on, so I called Nic who said to stop driving the car and check the fluid level. As i pulled into the church parking lot the light went off. So I think all is okay, just a bad sensor or something. After we had been at the church for about an hour I went out and check the level and there was NOTHING in the container for coolant. So I call Nic who instructs me to put cold water in it and come home. So I do so and we call our mechanic. He says bring it in and we will check it out. Well a few days later we find out there is a hose with a leak that is not worth it to fix. So first we lose Nics car and now mine?? Ahh, we have my sister in laws wedding in TN next weekend so we have little time to find a new vehicle for traveling to the wedding.

After a few days of convincing (Nic convincing me) we decided to buy a 1997 Chevy Conversion Van. It has so much room however I really had my heart on something else. I really was not sold on this but for the money we could spend right now this was the best choice we found.

Amist all the car talk, our little princess was a little fussy and kept laying down on the tile floor. She had a low grade fever but we just thought it was teeth. One night we were driving in the car and she started hitting the side of her head. Enough was enough. Tuesday morning I took her into the doctor to find out she had a bad double ear infection. Doctor said keep her on Motrin every 6 hours and gave her a stronger version of Amoxicillan!!

So the house has been on the market for 3 weeks now, we have dropped the price 17,000. and now we just wait, which is a little difficult since we have already found our next house. It is an all red brick house with a HUGE porch in front and a nice yard. The kitchen is actually smaller then what I have now, but there are 4 bedroom, a full basement which we are going to convert into a daycare, a full size attic which we will use for an entertainment room, a dining room, formal dining room and family room! I am so excited for this new house we just need to sell this one!! Anyone looking??

A few updates

So we have been thinking lately about moving to a bigger home, so as of last Monday our home officially went back on the market. We are hoping to sell our home and find a bigger place, maybe the kids could have their own rooms and such. Then on Friday Daddy had a little run in with a delivery truck and now his precious Saabster is at the repair shop waiting to hear its fate, totaled or fixed. He has pictures on his phone, but I guess I can try to describe it. He was making a right turn and the truck was too, the truck driver said he did not see him, although he was making the same turn and just turning wide?? Yeah his explanation did not make a whole lot of sense to me either. Quite simply it sounds like the truck driver was not paying any attention to the other traffic. So he tried turning and basically ran over the front end of his car. We were both surprised that the windows did not break and the car held up as nicely as it did. More info to come when we find out more. Yesterday we took the kids to the Pumpkin Patch. They really had a blast playing in the blow ups and having donuts. Here are a few pictures!!

An official update!

I have so much to tell and show!! First off, It was a fall day last Sunday, which was the 30th. So I took a pic of our little princess in her first fall outfit of the year.

Then big fella had his school physical the next day on Monday, he did very well especially with his 4 shots, that were only 3 pokes. So we took him out to lunch. While we were at the drs appointment the nurse did an eye exam and wrote on his physical that his vision was 20/70! WOW!! So I came home with a referal to an optometrist that the dr recommended highly. I called and made him an appointment for Friday. So all week I am stewing on how could this have happened and us not notice it? If his eyes are that bad why an I not seeing any evidence of it? Is he compensating for it unconsciously? So Friday came and I took him in, first off the dr was great. He explained everything to big Fella and he talked to him about things that he was interested in. He started examining and as soon as he looked at his eyes he said he is definately no 20/70. After all was done he said he is 20/25!! Whew, what a relief!!

Friday night daddy came home from work and wanted to take the boys to the go-cart track. We have been there before but never let little Fella drive the go-carts! I was really nervous. I dont know why he drive the power wheels around the back yard all the time. I guess I just didnt want him to have a bad experiance. He did SO GOOD!! He even passed big Fella a few times.

Then Daddy wanted to race with the big guns!! He would'nt smile for me, it is a serious thing apparently!!

Princess had a good time watching!

Finally, I decided to paint princess's room this weekend. I have had the plans for a month or so now. I wanted to give it a try!!

A new camera and a First Birthday!!

Thursday night while I was at a Spa Nite for church enjoying some pampering and friends my loving husband wnet and bought me a new camera!! He knew the one I wanted and went and bought it, here is the best part, he even took little fella AND princess!! For those of you who are close to us you will know this is a big deal because my hubby does not like to deal with carseats and having to buckle the kids. So usually he will only take big fella because he can buckle himself and does not need to have a carseat installed. Anyway he installed both carseats and took both children to the store and bought my camera, well I guess it is his camera too!! LOL!!
We bought a Sony DSC-H20. It has so many great features a few of them include a SMILE feature that will automatically take a picture when a smile is detected. It also has an intelligent feature that puts the camera into whichever mode it should be in when you take a picture, such as outside/gourmet food/low light/high light etc.

Enough about that, we had princesses birthday party with our extended family on Sunday. Everyone had a great time, we made Braciolone for dinner with roasted potatoes, green salad and a bean salad. Daddy made his famous cannoli cake and as always it was a hit!! Here are some pictures, there are more then normal as I was picture happy with the new camera!!

Well it really isnt on hold or pause, however our camera took a dive and drowned per say!! The camera turned off at the beach last Monday and I thought it was just because the batteries died. However after I recharged them and tried to turn on the camera (THE DAY OF PRINCESSES BIRTHDAY!!) it would not come on.

So we are on hold for now without a camera. I hate it!! I know the one I want, we just have to find time to go together and buy it!! Life is busy and doesnt stop for a camera I guess!!

So hopefully by this weekend I will have a new one!!

Wedding and Beach Fun!!

We had two wedding receptions this past weekend. They were so fun to go to and see family and friends we havent seen in a while. The first one was on Friday night and was an hour and a half away. We had so much fun socializing with old friends and letting the kids eat and eat and eat!! Holy Cow they did!! They ate like I hadnt feed them all day!!
Then Sunday we had a family wedding and the kids ate a ton there too!! Then they danced it all off. I took video of them dancing and then when I got it home I realized it was to dark to see the kids in the videos! I guess I forgot there is no flash with video!! Oh well here are some pics from the wedding!

Bunk Beds.....finally!!

As some of you may know I have been looking for bunkbeds for the boys for a little while now. Well, I finally found some at a garage sale for the lovely price of (drumroll please!!) $65.00!!! Yes thats right $65.00 and they came with the bottom mattress. The boys just love them and quite frankly I do too!!

This picture is not great, but you can kind of get the idea. The beds are twin on the top and full on the bottom. All wood and great condition.

The other day we were all outside and little fella was driving around the truck. I thought hmm lets see if little princess will like it, who was I kidding!! She loved it!!

gDiapers.....the best thing I have discovered since cloth diapers!!

At the 4th of July party on Nics side of the family, Nic's cousins wife told me about gDiapers. I had actually never heard of them, so when we got home I immediately looked them up. I was sold immediately on them. They are a different form of cloth diapers, they actually have a biodegradable liner that you can flush, toss or put in a compost bin. All I have to do is put a liner inside the diapers and when she needs a chance I take it out and toss it! So much easier the carrying around dirty cloth diapers when we are out. So I have bought all of my stuff off eBay just to save a little bit here and there. Yes, the cost of diapers is back but not in full swing. It is about half the cost of buying diapers at Wal-Mart and I am helping the planet at the same time. Man if I could get everyone I knew to use these diapers, we could make a huge dent in the landfills!!

A week in review...well kind of

Nicky made his goal and earned his sheets!! He was so proud to have them on his bed. He even said "I can't wait to sleep on my new sheets!" He also notice a flaw/mistake/printer color difference. We were eating dinner the same evening he had earned his sheets and he said "Mom, how come Filippe is the wrong color on my pillow case?" I guess in the show he is yellow and on the pillowcase he is orange. Quite funny that he noticed it but I guess he would be the one to know!!

Yesterday I was preparing to prepare dinner, little Princess was in her highchair having a snack. Someone came to the door so I left the kitchen to go and answer the door. Well little Princess decided she was going to help herself and this is what I found!!

Who knew she would like Marshmellows!!

We had a weird storm that came out of nowhere yesterday. It was sunny, and humid and then 10 minutes later it was raining, thundering, lightning and HAILING!!

Racecar, new clothes and cannoli cake!!

We were cleaning out the garage and (Daddy) working on the racecar on Saturday. Our little Princess decided she is a fan of the racecar. Here she is, clear the track!!

My mom has been busy making the kids new clothes. She made princess a little jumper complete with bloomers, SOOO CUTE!! She has also made the boys quite a few shirts, shorts and boxers. She bought them some new vests from TCP and they look so cute, although little fella says "Gama make me dis vest!" Nope those werent typos, thats how he says it!! Here are some pictures of them, in their new clothes. I took these sunday before church by myself and I think I did pretty well!!

Not to much has happened this week. The weather has cooled off, so we havent been swimming at all. In fact I think we were inside for an entire day this week, thats rare! We had some very dear friends of ours move this week so Monday we met them for dinner at Giordano's and said our final good byes for now. I am sure we will see them again, but it will be awhile. They gave Our little Princess a parting gift from their little princess. They were the best of friends. We would often see them giving each other kisses and smiles. Anyway, enough of the dramatics!! They gave our little Princess the Fisher Price Laugh and Learn kitchen, and she LOVES it. This is one of those toys that is hit or miss, like the Bounce and Spin Zebra or the Laugh and Learn Chair. We bought both of those brand new and our boys were NEVER interested beyond the first day!!

The other day when we were at Wal-Mart, Big fella saw and fell in love with some Handy Manny bed sheets, because he birthday just passed and Christmas is about 5 months away we made a deal. I bought him the sheets and he has to earn them. He is so excited, we decided he has 5 days to feed Stanley-morning and night, make his bed, get dressed, clean and keep clean his room and to pick up his toys. He is so excited and I am excited for him to learn about goals and want to acheive them!!

Sometimes it is the little things that count

So I have been very focused on buying our little Princess the perfect pair of beginner walking shoes under $20.00. I know that is not a whole lot of money for her first pair of shoes, but she will not wear them very long. We have never and probably will never buy shoes from places like Stride Rite because they are simply too expensive for a childs shoe. So I packed all three kids in the car today and we went to Baby's r us, Marshalls, Payless and finally Burlington Coat factory-baby depot. So any of you that have children know that it was quite an afternoon with 3 children in carseats getting them in and out to 4 different stores and then dealing with them while in the stores and trying shoes on little princess. I finally found the pair I have been dreaming of in my head for under $12.00. The are a little high top with soft rubber soles, but not those soles with part leather and rubber in a few circles on the bottom. These were cheaper then payless and a whole lot cuter.

We finally got home after stopping at Wal-Mart to get milk and such. Then the little ones went down for naps and Big Fella out to ride his bike. I heard him outside making these wierd growling noises so I grab the camera and sneak out into the garage. He was driving his race car and the growling.....starting his race car!!

Milestones for our Princess!!! Way to go baby!!!

Our little princess has learned how to pull herself up to things and now does it quite often. I have even figured out if I let her hold my fingers when she stands she will WALK!! The boys never walked this early, they were 13 and 16 months, she is only 10 months. To me I think this is great!! She can go and be busy with the boys!! She loves to laugh at them when they make sudden or loud noises and movements.
Her other milestone is that she now has her very own toothbrush and she loves to chew/brush with it!! She still only has 2 teeth on the bottom and a partial through the gums on the top. I figured if her teeth are out they need to be brushed.

It is just amazing that she can learn all these things in such a short time here on the earth!! Last year at this time she was still developing inside the womb, now she is almost walking, smiling, laughing, eating table food and drinking from a sippy cup. Just AMAZING!!

4th Of July Celebrations!!

Saturday we went to Wisconsin to visit with Nic's side of the family. We had a great time. There was lots of YUMMY food, lots of people to see and socialize with, the boys loved running around with Zach, playing basketball, baseball and rolling down the hill in the grass. After it started to get a little dark we watched the men blow off some fireworks. The boys have about a zillion bug bites a piece but they had a blast!!
On Sunday we went to church and then drove to Dixon to see my sister and her husbands side of the family for the last time before they head home, to Conneticut, today. We started out going to an annual parade they have in Dixon. The boys loved watching the firetrucks, police cars and horses walk by. They especially loved all the candy that was thrown out!!

We also had a great time playing croquet, socializing, eating more YUMMY food, shooting a potato gun and playing in the little wading pool!!

The Zoo

We decided to head off to the Madison Zoo on Friday. We had SOOO much fun. The Zoo was great with, of course, lots of animals and fun things to do and see. We went with my younger sister, older sister, her baby,our friend Lynn and her baby. We were quite the crowd. Then to top it off my Uncle and his girlfriend joined us around 12:00.

After the Zoo we decided to go to Ella's Deli and Ice Cream for some lunch. We all had a VERY tasty lunch, then afterwards we rode the carousel!! The kids LOVED it.

It was a great day!! We all have a little sun kiss and we were all EXHAUSTED!!

It is finally SUMMER!!!

We finally have been able to get outside and play!!! Our Princess and little fella are starting to tan, just like their Daddy!! I love it!! Our big fella not as much but he is getting some. Poor guy has a skin tone like me. Hopefully it will get better as he gets older. Our big fella had his last T-ball game on Monday and he recieved a trophy that he is SOOO proud of. He takes it everywhere with him so he can show people.
We went to Sandpark pool last Wednesday. The kids all had a blast. We went from 1-4:30. We would have stayed longer but I was getting sunburnt and didnt have anymore sunblock. We all slept very well that night, however I left the camera at home.

My older sister and her family are in IL for a little while so we have been having fun outings with them. Last Friday they came over along with my younger sister and her husband. We had some great water gun fights and played in the pool. Yesterday we went to a great wood park in Dixon, IL. It was so much fun, not really baby or toddler friendly but we made it work. She has all the pics from that so when I get them I will post them.

So an update on Potty training...Our little fella is doing GREAT!! He is staying dry during the day and most nights!! I swear, everytime I contemplate potty training I always get nervous and worry about how they will do, then they always do better then predicted. I guess the worrying pays off!!

We had a great time meeting up with some old friends from Utah and going to the Jelly Belly Factory. We had never been there so I wanted to go and see what it was all about. We had a great time going on the tour and getting some free Jelly Belly's!! Then we went to lunch and back to their hotel to go swimming. However the pool was closed so we didnt get to go swimming, but the kids played in the bath tub instead.

We also had Our Big Fella's birthday party on the 14th of June. We had a great time with family. We made homemade pizzas and had a yummy salad. Then we had a yummy Canolli Cake that our Daddy made and our big fella opened all his presents. He was especially excited for a new water gun and a tool set complete with a tool belt and hammer.

So it is FINALLY getting warmer. I thought it was before and then it just got cold again. So we have been outside as much as possible lately. Some fun times have included playing on the slip n slide, playing in the little wading pool, (which only the boys have done, still too cold for little princess!)going for walks and bike rides. Our oldest fella's birthday is tomorrow so we took him to the store and let him pick out a brand new bike!! He was so excited he had to go for a bike ride right away. So Daddy took him for a ride and he had a little fall. He was scared and cut up, but he rode his bike home and has been on it all day today. Anyway here are some pics from the recent days. Also little Princess has eaten her very first cheese curl and of course she LOVED it!!

Potty Training easy as 123...really??

I started potty training Anthony last Thursday. He is doing really well. I have to remind him alot to go to the bathroom and he does not go by himself. He gets so excited when he goes and he gets a sticker everytime. Of course we have had other rewards such as a ride in the SAAB, gum, chocolate chip cookies, a trip to McDonald's play world and of course chocolate, chocolate and more chocolate!! He has been wearing underwear all day and then at night we just put on plastic pants just in case we have an accident and so far we havent!! Anyway have a great day!!

Nicky loves playing t-ball. Big Nic is the coach and he has his work cut out for him!! Trying to get the boys to understand the game and how to play is a trick in itself and then having their energy mixed in makes for some funny games!! Here are a few pictures of Nicky batting. Update on Diapers!!

My mother in-law and I have been working on making our own diapers recently. Here are a few pictures of our results. I bought a pattern from a website and have been perfecting it to my/our standards. They are made from PUL fabric on the outside(which is a waterproofed material) the inside soaker is a microfiber towel and the inside is cotton fleece. The elastic is fold over elastic sewn all around the diaper. The blue diaper is one I bought off ebay, it is a pocket diaper and the yellow soaker goes in between the two panels, in the pocket.

First Boat Ride

So Monday night we decided to take the boat out for the first ride of the season. The boys were so excited, I was so nervous! I just worry that one of them is going to be standing at the wrong time and fall overboard. Anyway so we made sure the kids had life jacket and we went out. Nic insisted that Gianna could wear Anthonys from last year and it is WAY TOO big.

Nic hated Nicky's glasses but we couldnt find his other ones. So what... he's 4!!!

So when we were done we tried to take a family picture. These are the only ones close enough to working. Gianna kept watching Nic run behind us and she was evern laughing at him at times.

Anyway it was fun to get out of the house and take a ride in the boat. We finally are starting to see some nice weather!!! Thank Goodness!!

So this morning somehow we were on the subject of "When Daddy dies" not sure how we got here but our conversation went like this:

Nicky: Mom when Daddy dies...

Me: Nicky don't say that

Nicky:but Mom when Daddy dies he will be so happy because he gets to live with Heavenly Father and Jesus then.

I never want to think about what it would be like if Nic were to die and leave us here, however my 4 year old has thought this through apparently. The best thing about this is that he does not fear death the way alot of people do.

Brussell Sprouts, Carrotts and Bomb Pops!!

Okay so Gianna has been trying out new foods lately and we are figuring out what she likes and dislikes!!

We gave her Brusssell sprouts one night fordinner and she loved them, so a few nights later we had them again but I made her carrotts instead. She ate a few carrots and saw the brussell sprouts and wanted them. So I gave her the Brussell Sprouts and she at them all!! Wierd huh?? Well, I guess, not really because the boys LOVE vegetable including Brussell Sprouts. Then Sunday night we gave the boys Bomb Pops after dinner and she wanted some so I let her try it. She liked it for as long as she could stand the cold in her hand.

So today Nicky wanted to make a robot, so we waited until Anthony took his nap and made him one out of a box, paper and markers. Then when Anthony got up he wanted one too. So we made them both one and they had so much fun coloring them and taping them all together. I must say it was a nice break from cleaning and doing laundry!!

So we have finally had some warm weather so we tried to take advantage of it. Nicky was sick Saturday Night, Sunday Night, all day Monday and Tuesday. He had like a slow motion flu virus. He still tried to join us outside for little bits at a time!! Here are a few pictures:

Okay ladies I need your feedback. Okay so Nic and I have our 6th Anniversary this weekend, on Sunday. He is not really into celebrating anything including Christmas, birthdays or even Valentines Day. I call him cheap he says it is just another day. Ok so our anniversary weekend he is going on HUNTING of all things on Saturday. I am a little miffed because Sunday we can't go anywhere to spend money so he of course says well we will go out to dinner just the 2 of us on Saturday. How dull??!!! Why is he so whatever about holidays even our anniversary?? Are there other husbands like mine or is mine the only bum?? I hope this makes sense I am writing while supervising children!! LOL!!!

So the cloth AIO diapers arrived today!! I am so excited. They are not much thinner then the diaper and plastic pants but they sure are easier with velcro tabs and everything already sewn into the diaper. Here is a little info on them. I guess I need to get a few more as we only bought 9 for the 2 of them.

Kushies Ultra diapers are all in one diapers. They are babysitter friendly and perhaps one of the easiest diaper systems to use. Just place the diaper on your baby and attach it with the hook and loop (velcro) closures. They are made of 100% cotton flannel on the interior and have a vinyl waterproof exterior. They have a built in flap for greater absorbency and a quicker drying time. You will need doublers for nap time and nighttime if you have a heavy wetter.

If you use Kushies as your only diaper system you will need at least 8 for Toddlers and at least 12-15 for younger babies each day.

Kushies Ultra diapers are available in three sizes: Newborn: 4-10 lbs Infant: 10-22 lbs Toddler: 22-45 lbs. If you plan on nursing exclusively we do not recommend the newborn size because you are more likely to have blowouts with the Kushies Ultra in the newborn size.

Nicky: "Oh my mom is upstairs you can go right up!!"

Cloth diaper update!

I am so proud of myself for sticking with this for so long. I finally bought some AIO (all in one)diapers so I am waiting on them anyday to come in the mail. I have been using diapers and pins with plastic pants and my children have aquired HUGE bottoms. I can barely fit them into their pants now. Anyway we had our first overnight with cloth only on Tuesday and they both woke up dry. I was SUPER impressed. I put 3 diapers on Anthony, with the 3rd on just folded in front. Gianna just wore 2. We are still having a few leaks here and there but mainly because I forget to change them and they go to long and leak. They definatly have to be changed more often with cloth but it is worth it to save a little bit of the environment.
As for storing the dirty ones I just put them into a wal-mart bag, tie it and leave it on top of the washer. For poopies I let them soak for about 10 minutes in a toilet and them ring them out and put them in the bag. When I am ready to wash I just dump the whole bag into the washer and run the load.

I encourage anyone to do this because it really is worth it.

Going Green...kind of!

Okay so I havent blogged in awhile, I am bad at this. So I have been recycling more and more the past couple months and it really makes me feel good to do something good for the environment. So then we recieved very high gas and electric bills so I turned the heater down and have been unplugging things we are not using. Well here is my next change, CLOTH DIAPERS!!! I just can't get over the fact that it take 500 years for a diaper to decompose, not to mention the amount of money we are spending on diapers a month is astronomical!! So any of you out there that have any tips for me on cloth diapers please let me know what you know. I have tried this before with the boys when they were little. So Gianna is already wearing them and I am waiting for Anthonys to come in the mail.

Some of my questions are where should I put them in between them wearing them and washing them? I think I should soak them but where and how so the kids won't get into them?

At night should I use disposables or will they hold til the morning? (Right now I am using disposables until I get the liners for the diapers.)

My next adventure is making my own wipes which should not be hard, I just have to see which is more expensive: the supplies to make the wipes or the already made wipes!!

Hello Again!

I know it has been terribly long since I have posted. We have been so busy with all the holidays and such! For Christmas all of our family went to my parents house in PA. We all drove there and we hit some pretty bad weather going there. A 11-12 hour overnight drive turned into a 20 hour drive with no sleep for me or Nic. It was a VERY long ride but worth it to spend Christmas with my family all together. We also had a chance to visit with Nics Uncle, Aunt and cousin who also live in PA. It was great to see them. It had been 6 years since we had seen them.

The boys enjoyed playing in the snow and going sledding. My sisters and I went shopping and we all had a night to make a signature meal from our family. We made Pasta. It was really good and everyone liked it. My sister DeAnna made Sloppy Joes and Dana had Tacos! We took family pictures and lots of other pictures. All in all it was a good time that flew by way to fast.

I am terrible lately at keeping in touch and staying up to date.

Well this last week was very busy with Halloween and the excitement of it. We started out with going to a farewell/birthday party on Sunday with Nic's family. We all had a great time. Nic's sister is leaving for the Air Force after the first of the year. This was the first time we had seen her in 2 years. She had not met Anthony or Gianna yet. We all had a great time with her and we wish her the best of luck with everything. The birthday party was for Zack, Nic's younger brother who turned 5. The boys had fun running around and playing with each other.

The Monday was back to the grind with work and such. We carved pumpkins for Family HOme Evening, it was fun but did not hold the kids attention long! The week flew by and on Friday the boys got to walk in a costume parade at the daycare then have a Halloween party with their classes. Then after I got off work we went to Nics work and the boys Trick or Treated around to all his co-workers. Then we came home, my sister Dana came over, and we took the boys out in the neighborhood to trick or treat. They had a great time and now have a TON of candy!!

So for next week we have some exciting things. Of Course voting is next week and I encourage everyone to VOTE! Make your vote count, VOTE, VOTE, VOTE!!!

Also my brother Darrell coming home from his mission on Thursday. He has a layover in Chicago so Nic is going to meet him at the airport to see him. Then when he gets home he is actually driving out here the next day with my parents to go on a hunting trip with Nic and my dad to South Dakota.

New Happenings!

Okay so work went okay last week. I was absolutly exhausted by Friday night. I was falling asleep at the table at 8 p.m. that night. So much for date night!! Anyway Anthony and I both have a chest cold now except his is much worse then mine. He has had a fever since Saturday night and he is just miserable. He was home with Nic yesterday and today I took the day off. Hopefully tomorrow he will be feeling better.

Yesterday we had carpet installed in the basement. The basement is now complete and looks wonderful. I love the colors in the carpet and the softness of the carpet compared to the concrete floor. Nic actually let me basically choose the carpet after he brought home samples. So here are pictures of the carpet and one of Anthony sleeping.

Today we went to Edwards Apple Orchard. We had a great time eating Apple Cider donuts, going on a wagon ride and running around playing. The boys went on pony rides and then we all picked out a pumpkin. Gianna slept the whole time so, Yes she still got a pumpkin, but no there are no pictures of her.

Okay so I decided that I just couldnt be a home body anymore and I am going back to work.

I recieved a job at a daycare in Rockford where I will be the lead teacher in the 2 yr. old room. I think this really will be good for all of us. Nicky will be in a preschool program that is already affiliated with the school district we are in. For Anthony we think this will help with is speech skills and breaking away from Mommy a little bit! As far as Gianna I am sad for her a little because she is still so little she will have no idea what is going on. But no worries all will be good!

So I start work on the 6th of October from 8-5 Mon.- Fri. It may change to earlier but as of now that is where it stands!

Gianna Rose

So Gianna was born Wednesday at 6:03 p.m. She was a simple delivery, the labor was only 8 hours long. Once I had an epideral put in it, it took about 10 minutes and my water broke and she moved right down the canal. The nurse checked me and I had gone from 5-6 to complete. All it took was for me to relax and the epideral did it. She was 8 lbs and 1 oz and 19 1/2 inches long! I am only posting one picture today because I usually post through photobucket and I am trying to figure out how to put the pictures on the blogger, so if any one knows how feel free to tell me. I will post more soon if I don't figure out the blogger way.

So this weekend I spent getting last minute things together for when I am away at the hospital to have our little Gianna Rose! Yes, we finally have come to argee on her name. It will be Gianna Rose. I have not offically told Nic that her middle name is going to be Rose I figured that could be a fun thing to tell him in the hospital when she is born, as he wants that name. My parents are coming out to stay with the boys while we are gone. I really appreciate them coming, it really takes a lot of stress off of me knowing that my boys will be in their own home with their own comforts when this could be a stressful time for them.

So I went for a tour of the hospital on Saturday and I am very excited to stay at such a nice place. All the nurses were very friendly and the hospital itself looks nice. They have great security and made me feel very comfortable to be giving birth there. (Vivian you were right it is nice!!)

Tomorrow I think I will take the boys back to the beach for our last hoorah before Gianna comes and things get a little more hectic around here. Nicky wanted to go Saturday but we just didnt have time.This time I will take the camera!!

Beach Fun!!

So Tuesday I took my boys to the Olson Lake Beach, that Vivian takes her boys to, and they absolutley loved it. I was so impressed that they both went right into the water. Then they entertained themselves by playing in the sand and water!

I put sunblock on the boys but not on myself cuz I thought I want to get a little sun. Bad idea!! I got really sunburnt on my thighs, back and shoulders!! I thought I had a hard time sleeping before getting a sunburn, well try it after when you can't sleep on your shoulders, back or with your legs touching! Ahh so, bright idea gone desperatly wrong!!

So I wanted to take them back on Friday, however I don't think I will be able to stand to heat from the sun yet!!

Oh and if you are wondering where the pictures are I forgot my camera! Of course!!
